What is Earth Day?: Celebrated every year on April 22, Earth Day is a global event dedicated to raising awareness about environmental protection and sustainability. First observed in 1970, it has grown into an international movement, inspiring individuals and communities to take action for a healthier planet.
What's happening: Piedmont Park Conservancy's program, "Babies to Big Ones," will take students on an exciting journey to discover how plants and animals grow. Does a young frog look like its parent? How do different species change as they mature? Through interactive games, hands-on exploration of skulls, furs, and tracks, and engaging activities, children will learn about the wonders of growing up in the wild!
Stay and Play!: After the event, families are welcome to stay at the park, enjoy the playground, and bring a picnic lunch to relax and explore the beautiful surroundings of Piedmont Park.
About Piedmont Park Conservancy: Located in the heart of Atlanta, Piedmont Park Conservancy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing Piedmont Park, one of the city’s most cherished green spaces. Since its founding in 1989, the Conservancy has played a crucial role in restoring the park’s natural beauty, maintaining its trails and gardens, and providing educational programs that connect people with nature.
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to celebrate Earth Day with hands-on learning, outdoor fun, and community connection!
