The Black Legacy Celebration: Rooted in Community, Powered by Us is a family-friendly event honoring Black history, culture, and community through live performances, interactive exhibits, local vendors, and food experiences.
This event is designed for all ages—families, individuals, community members, and supporters who want to celebrate Black legacy, culture, and entrepreneurship together.
Yes! Children are welcome.
• Children under 3 years old are free but must sit on a parent’s lap due to limited space.
• All other children require a general admission ticket.
The Main Stage Production, Rooted in Community, Powered by Us, is a live performance featuring music, movement, and storytelling that honors historic Black towns and the communities that built lasting legacies.
This interactive, timeline-style exhibit highlights trailblazing Black-owned businesses—past and present—showcasing innovation, resilience, and the entrepreneurs shaping the future.
Legacy Lane Marketplace is a curated shopping experience featuring local Black-owned vendors offering handcrafted goods, cultural items, and community-centered services.
The Culinary Square is a dedicated food experience at the Black Legacy Celebration that highlights the flavors, traditions, and creativity of Black culture through sample-sized food tastings from local black owned businesses. It’s a space to gather, explore, and enjoy culturally rich dishes while continuing the celebration.
The Culinary Square opens after the Main Stage Production, allowing guests to transition from the performance into a shared food and community experience.
